Thank you for this demonstration, you've convinced me to give this setup a try!
I've been moving towards a mouse-free environment, stemming from wanting a productive remote/on-the-go laptop setup (where the mouse is tolerable at best), and from having severe wrist pain using a mouse. I've gotten quite good at moving around the machine with keystrokes, and I also make heavy use of tools like vimium. Where I've felt stuck was my IDE, I use vscode(over full-time vim) because of the exact features you describe. I've attempted to modify vscode a lot, including keybind updates and addons, but I've just struggled to get the muscle memory down. Vanilla Vim never cut it for me aside from basic server management, and even some of the modified neovim setups that I've had co-workers suggest always felt lacking in major areas. Your setup in contrast looks fabulous and zippy, thank you again for sharing.
