Yeah honestly 99% of what most casual user do on a computer is in the browser, and Linux does that just fine. And it's way less noisy in terms of random notifications, upgrade spam etc. so it is not a bad choice for unsophisticated users. Also things don't randomly move around so much between upgrades like they do on commercial OS's.
