This is BS. If you don't allow yourself to do stupid shit you're not being creative or explorative enough in the pursuit. You may be a technical master but you will never be a game-changing luminary.
- jinfiesto 15y agoIn my opinion, in this context, the appropriate time to "do stupid shit" is after you've become a technical master and have the ability to "do stupid shit" with a high level of artistry.
- regularfry 15y agoIndeed. I heard it expressed as "Become a craftsman first. It won't stop you being a genius." Only I can't remember who said it.
