Outdated Answers: accepted answer is now unpinned on Stack Overflow
- asicsp 5y ago>There was a whopping 61.6% increase in users copying from the top answer when the accepted answer was unpinned and the highest-scoring answer was first in the list of answers. I hope the users will still at least be curious about the accepted answer in such cases, popularity doesn't always mean it is better. But overall, I think this change is better.
- ThePadawan 5y agoIn my personal experience, the only time when the top reply and the accepted answer differ is when the answer has become obsolete over time. E.g. Q: "How do I do X in JS?" in 2010 A1 (100 votes, accepted): "Use jQuery function jX()" (2011) A2 (300 votes): "Since 2015, the standard function jX2() is supported in all major browsers.
