The more time passes, the more I'm convinced that the right strategy would have been to make the vaccines initially cost $35,000 a dose, so that the outcry would have been that the Illuminati was making it impossible for the common man to get access to these life-saving drugs. Then, after months of argumentation, people could have had the victory of having the vaccines "liberated" and offered for free, such that getting the vaccine would be sticking it to the elites.
- steverb 5y agoThat is evil and brilliant and I love it. We should go into business together. :-)
- koonsolo 5y agoNot sure why you are getting downvoted, because such things can work. Just look at what Antoine-Augustin Parmentier did with potatoes. Same mental trick.
- rufus_foreman 5y agoThat's the Captain Cook approach. To get his crew to eat sauerkraut, which was thought to prevent scurvy, he started out by only serving it at the officers table. The crew then asked if they could have it too.
- commandlinefan 5y agoI immediately thought of Antoine Parmentier (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antoine-Augustin_Parmentier https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antoine-Augustin_Parmentier) who was trying to get the potato accepted in France and hired armed guards to protect his potato field to convince people they were valuable... but let people steal as many as they wanted.
- UncleMeat 5y agoWhat's odd is we did see a little of this. Rich people were bribing their way into getting earlier doses.
- motohagiography 5y agoAdvised acquaintence in a PR company and reporters at beginning of this that they should "find" stories that the wealthy and celebrities were flying to countries where they could jump the queue for vaccination if they wanted to get more uptake. Response was government had other plans. Given my previous work in digital identity, I was getting inquiries from vaccine passport companies in the summer of last year. This was always about the passport.
- tolmasky 5y agoWhere are these magic passports then? You keep talking about these high tech passports but my vaccination card is basically a piece of toilet paper with 2 stickers on it (that you can easily buy off Ebay by the way) and the nurse telling me "don't lose that!"
- motohagiography 5y agoSMART Health is the technology, using data from WHO's covax program, which was pushed down to public health units via govt health ministries and departments. A teardown of the tech applied in Quebec was posted on HN several weeks ago.
- pbaka 5y agoHere's what the "conspiracy" (1) sounds like : What the system does right now : - Everybody nation has an electronic record/QR code + "vaccine" passport - They all use the same data exchange standard - They are then interconnected for verification purposes when people travel. <- we're here right now Where people who are against it fear it'll lead : - They need to be connected to classical biometric ID's (passports, cards) to check for fakes <- in development - You now have a de facto standardised worldwide ID / Health data system - You can now bolt a system to control movement of people (Canada is doing this right now) - You can bolt on it a worldwide financial credit system - You can bolt on it a worldwide social credit system - You can now slowly erase nations state and replace them with services issued by global corporate operators. Result : Global crypto-fascist corporatist state, next to Russia, China, India, and a few others. (1) Calling it a conspiracy is a misnomer, as it's been widely published in public prospective policy documents by various large NGO's and think tanks, such as the Global Redesign Plan 2010 by the WEF (now rebranded Grand Reset). Various "Stakeholder capitalism" proposals by other large ones, etc. It's not a consparicy also because a lot of random people know about it and think it's a good thing. It's rather a set of policies a lot of powerful people want to see implemented
- exabrial 5y agoThat actually was the original plan, ironically.
- belltaco 5y agoWon't work. They will just say celebrities get saline or a different vaccine. I've actually seen this happen already when big politicians got jabbed first.
