Yep the GOP needed a long term project like the Labor had in the UK to remove clause 4 and kick out the "tankie" / "hobbyist" element. One member one vote instead of primaries would be a good start as would be outlawing the presidential "venal offices" an have a fully professional civil service. The Big companies need to get together and support Eisenhower era sensible GOP candidates.
