It's just wild to me to see American politicians gamble so much with their golden goose. Risk of a default is very low I think, but even a few administrative missteps could destabilize the US dollar as a reserve currency.
- Mountain_Skies 5y agoIt usually a game of chicken to see which party can spin near default misses and shutdowns into more damage to the other party. But it would be an extra dangerous game to play right now during a public health crisis. Wouldn't be surprised if both parties gleefully jumped into the breach anyway, thinking they could use it to annihilate the other.
