'Tax These Moochers': Top% Dodge $163B in Taxes Each Year
- elmerfud 5y agoI read this as, the bureaucracy needs to expand to catch people avoiding the bureaucrats. Instead of investing more in this decrepit bureaucracy organization we call the IRS why isn't the proposal to simplify the tax code to make it harder to avoid. Every financial organization is already a mandatory reporter for money is that they've paid out or income that has been earned and they already exist as part of the tax collection infrastructure. Start doing away with all of the nonsense with deductions and credits and write offs and all the things that require this level of bureaucracy. Of course that will never happen because there's too much money to be made with having an exceedingly complicated tax code. It's also not a really great sound bite to say hey Will simplify the tax code we'll put a lot of tax preparers and financial people out of work because they simply won't be needed and will increase collection rates across all income sectors. Rabble rabble rabble 1%ers sounds better, and it also doesn't upset the big money that sits behind the Bernie Sanders.
