Signing and notarizing an Electron app for distribution using GitHub Actions
- Klonoar 5y agoNot every app needs com.apple.security.cs.debugger in their entitlements and it's questionable to put it in a blog post where it's likely to be copied and pasted.
- simonw 5y agoThanks for letting me know - I have no idea what that entitlement does, I myself copied it from another tutorial. It's included in the official Electron docs here: https://www.electronjs.org/docs/latest/tutorial/code-signing/ https://www.electronjs.org/docs/latest/tutorial/code-signing... - so maybe it's a requirement for Electron packages? I did at least include the sentence "I don't fully understand these ones, but they are what I got to after multiple rounds of experimentation" - these are my own notes on what I learned, it's not intended as a guide to what everyone else should do.
- Klonoar 5y agoHmmm, fair point re: the Electron docs - maybe the inspector that Electron includes requires it?
