No it’s not debatable. They’re living a satisfying life.
- pb7 5y ago>I'm spending more time feeling good about work than finding and investing in a hobby that'll make me truly happy. Are they?
- whytaka 5y agoGenerally, yes. I'm rather successful by my own standards.
- RHSeeger 5y agoAre you of the opinion that, just because the thing you enjoy doing also benefits your employer, that you can't enjoy it? That seems... very limiting. If I won the lottery, I'd be doing the same thing I do now, except without someone telling me to do it.
- meiraleal 5y agoUnsuccessful people can live a satisfying life because that's what they can get. It doesnt mean they are living the way they want but the way the think they can
- shukantpal 5y agoWell clearly in this case the person is not living their life because "that's all they can get”. Working 70 hours is a very voluntary choice in this case.
- stingraycharles 5y agoOf course it’s debatable. What’s not debatable is that the grandparent perceives it as a satisfying, fulfilling life right now. What constitutes a satisfying life is an incredibly gray area, and for me, as I get older, I keep having to re-calibrate myself and realize life is short, even more so if you don’t know how to use it.
