I think selective memory might be potentially beneficial to some VCs. You would have missed out on all the opportunities if you "clouded" your vision by failures in previous cycles. As the tides keep rising it is probably not a flaw to forget previous mishaps. Perhaps there is a happy balance or medium when the tide is not rising or interest rates go up.
