Freedom is only for conservatives, apparently.
- handrous 5y agoThere's freedom, then there's "freedom", the branding term used to chase a certain market. This is clearly the latter.

- lnxg33k1 5y agoa lot of left wing ideas are now represented more by right wing, if anything just because left wing today is more of a antiworkers, elitist, classist bunch of neoliberals
- xyzzy21 5y agoStrictly the left has switched places with what was once associated with the right. Today the right is the party of populism while the left is the party of Statism, centralized top-down control and authoritarianism under the control of the 1%. Of course, the Democratic Party opposed abolition of slavery in the 19th century and the Republican Party was in large part formed to fight slavery. The Democratic Party supported by commission and omission: the KKK, Jim Crow, opposition to the Civil Rights Act of the 1960s, etc. President Johnson specifically said of the CRA that blacks and people supporting it would live to regret it because they had a plan to use welfare to destroy the black community (which they pretty much succeeded at). And now we've seen that TRUE personality return.
- vharuck 5y agoThere's "free" as in beer, "free" as in free speech, and "free" as in Freedom Fries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_fries https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_fries
