Nice. Although I could just create a QR code sticker for LinkedIn and stick it on the back of my phone. Or perhaps there is a way to use the NFC inside my phone for quick easy LinkedIn connections.
The problem I can see though is not everyone I share business cards with is someone I want to establish LinkedIn connection with - but - having said that I have so many connections (1000+) that perhaps the solution needs to be on LinekedIn side in terms of establishing 'circles' or something where I can better control my connections.
- Kaibeezy 5y agoInteresting. Controlling levels of access is a thought exercise I went through a couple of years back. Bought a URL and everything. I was focused on a kind of dynamic email addressing scheme. I know email is old school, but it has some very positive and flexible qualities. Even its unreliability (small, but non-zero failure rate) sort of feels like a feature: a built-in failsafe excuse. Re these NFC cards, I’d hand them out just to save people typing my email address, which they sometimes struggle with, but which needs to be typed perfectly. Could pick an even more complicated one!
