Who are the "we" in the we shouldn't? If it is possible, rich enough people will do it, shouldn't or not. Even if it makes even more unsustainable the current conditions (rich enough individuals/families/countries consume/pollute/etc more than poor ones). And eventually, if you get enough rich people living till, I don't know, 150 years, that will be democratized (shouldn't or not, again, different countries will have different policies). Of course, that would be unsustainable in the long term, but we might not have a long term to worry about anymore. The climate clock is ticking faster than the life extension one.
