I read here ProtonMail were compelled to log the IP by the authorities... Could they have done anything else? Could any sort of malicious compliance have been an out? Like: "if we hear there is an investigation on you then we want nothing to do with your shit and we'll delete your account"? I suppose this would land them in hot water, but there might be something else really clever?
