Did they control for any potentially relevant confounder like age, education etc.? No? That said it would be interesting to do a follow up study and check how these social party tigers who liked to drink and to do sports ended up when they are 70. My guess is they do less sports but drink more. Maybe they even go to the sport club to meet their friends and to drink.
