I know someone who represented trucking companies in major road crashes. A night of anecdotes with him destroyed my perspective on this completely. I don't have anything personal against the average trucker, but I primarily want driverless cars so we can put all of these guys out of work. If we can get robots to lower accident rates and drive all night without getting sleepy (or, in what I'm sure are rare cases, methed up), I'm sorry, but I'm for it. I always brake for truckers. I have enormous respect for the good haulers out there. I still hope they disappear in my lifetime.
