Per number 5, even sticking to just the verified stuff it is well known Obama used these powers to spy on Trump’s campaign, and Trump used them to spy on Biden/force Apple to be silent giving up Biden-people’s iCloud data via NSL gags.
- mkr-hn 5y agoEven if it's well-known, and I'm not convinced it is since this is news to me, it won't be forever. Sharing some sources would help a lot both for people now and people finding this post 10, 20, 30 years from now.
- hypothesis 5y agoIt’s going to be hard to avoid bit rot on that scale. Anyhow, I would guess he’s talking about “unmasking” issue with respect to Trump adjacent figures. My brain was awfully (in hindsing - hilariously) confused for a good two minutes... trying to figure out how exactly was Apple sidetracking the imposed silence coalmine-canary-style by creatively leaking some data to Biden's people - via the medium of Saturday Night Live gags. (My only defense is a self-eyeroll.)
