A decade too late seems more accurate. If these models had been introduced in the 90s, perhaps they would be the over-hyped student camera instead of the K1000.
- throwawayboise 5y agoWould have had to be in the late 70s to beat the K1000 to that market. I was using a K1000 in high school in the early 1980s
- timw4mail 5y agoI wasn't meaning beat to market, as much as having the opportunity to be newer and possibly more common than the K1000. On the other hand, there's just something more timeless about a metal-bodied camera.
- gerikson 5y agoThis article is written with respect to the recent film "revival"[1], and posits that this would have been a great product for Cosina to take advantage of it. [1] in quotes because I personally don't believe it's sustainable.
