So a feature for child safety, delayed due to public peer-pressure. How much of the public pee-pressure was from children? An odd question but equally, does highlight how many things are done in the "think of the children" vein that never even asks a single child for their thoughts. Whilst we all admit there are many things to protect children from and even some questions, but imagine if Apple countered with an advert showing lots of children saying how it's good how Apple is protecting their safety. How would that sit with public opinion then?

Kid's should be allowed to be kids and not be dragged into this discussion. This is a complex issue and there is a good reason why we don't let children consent to various things or sign legally binding contracts. Kid's are not just "little adults." I will admit if apple did that it would be a pretty effective, but really sleazy.
