Where Is the Science or Logic Behind Mandated Vaccines?
- eigengrau5150 5y agoNobody worried about the science or logic behind vaccinating people for smallpox, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, and however many other viral infections we insist kids get vaccinated against before they start kindergarten. Why is COVID-19 different?
- allears 5y agoThe logic is this: granted, vaccines aren't perfect. But they're a big improvement over no vaccine, even with thoughts and prayers. This pandemic is a crisis. Let's throw everything we have at it. Even then we might not prevail, but I'd rather go down fighting than make excuses and do nothing.
- lax4ever 5y agoExcept the "Throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" mentality doesn't really qualify as logical, just desperate. And the growing body of evidence showing that post-COVID infection immunity is stronger than that of the vaccinated provides just another example of how trying the desperation method along with a one-size-fits all mentality of "Everyone just do it" is lacking all kinds of logical support. More and more we are seeing that once we had a decent understanding of what the comorbidity risk factors were we should have encouraged them to take precautions instead of forcing basically the entire country/world.
