I am very confused what you're trying to imply here? That Apple was intentionally not implementing child safety features before now and that's suspect but no one was questioning them?
They've had various levels of parental control features around app and website blocking for a while. CSAM scanning aside, I think the other features around checking/blurring for unsolicited lewd images is ahead of most other companies in the space?
What blind faith are you referring to? "Apple Inc is a mouthwatering target" to whom? The CSAM features that are being pushed back aren't about if people "trust their own children".
- vagrantJin 5y ago> aren't about if people "trust their own children". The trust their own children but isn't about CSAM itself. Its about a previous comment I made where a parent made a claim about airtagging their kids so they knew where they are. I pointed out the hypocrisy of buying an iphone for better privacy while blatantly denying their own kids that same privilege. It should be in my comment histroy.
- noirbot 5y agoHow is that possibly Apple's fault? Some people are hypocrites. Some people trust themselves more than their children. You're just stringing together random arguments you've had with people who happen to own Apple products and then trying to blame Apple for it somehow?
