The Roli Seaboard is an interesting and expensive piece of hardware. But it was focused in a pretty narrow target audience: professionals who want a MIDI controller with a keyboard layout, but also provising additional expressive controls right at the finger tips - the soft keys respond to pressure as well as exact finger position. It wouldn't usually replace a proper keyboard because its rubbery squishiness doesn't support many normal keyboard play styles well. How can you aim for aggressive hypergrowth and at the same time start out with a complete niche product? To me, this doesn't add up.
