I really want/wanted to get rid of my lawn when I first bought my house, until I realized how easy to maintain it is, especially if you don't care if it's looks nice. Bushes need to be trimmed, garden beds need to be weeded, annuals need to be re-planted, etc. But mow your lawn once a week (20-30 minutes) and that's all you need to do.
- WarOnPrivacy 5y agoNot here. Our lawns need to be watered daily and treated frequently with chemicals that pollute every waterway for miles. Stop any of that and the grass starts dying immediately. It's common here to see folks resod every year if not multiple times.
- quickthrower2 5y agoOpposite here: buffalo takes a lot of abuse and has died and resurrected many times due to construction work/lack of water/trampoline shadow etc.
- WarOnPrivacy 5y agoSame thing when I lived in the mid-Atlantic. We never watered or did anything to our grass but cut it.
- quickthrower2 5y agoI forgot to mention also guniea pigs unleashed on it too! With them Im not even needing to cut it!
- notJim 5y agoI'm in Oregon, so it rains enough through most of the year that the lawn keeps itself going. It goes dormant from lack of water in the summer, but that's fine with me. Doesn't seem to need anything else so far, except mowing.
