Related, a clip of a Goffin cockatoo making a similar tool three different times, out of different material[0]. These pesky lil' birds are very intelligent/clever. I know someone who has one and it has pretty complex social behaviour, and easily breaks out of its cage -- it taught itself how to manipulate the mechanisms to open both cage doors. The owners just leave the door open now, haha .. The bird also alerted the family (by squawking nonstop until someone came) when an elderly family member fell over. I can definitely understand comparing these birds to 3-yr-old humans. [0] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBQpqtbxplQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBQpqtbxplQ
