I don't understand why people with a large audience feel compelled to weigh in on things that they don't know anything about. It makes sense when it's entertainment but when it comes to medicine and investment advice it seems ill-advised. But hey, Joe Rogan and Jim Cramer have been making buckets of money doing what they do. Maybe it falls into the category of "you get the universe you deserve?"
- Finnucane 5y agoBecause people are being sold on the notion that knowledge, expertise, science, and technical skills are a kind of authority that serves some vaguely identified 'elite' and therefore are not to be trusted or believed. Charlatans and grifters can then insert themselves as the source of truth.
