As a long-time Apple user, five years ago I would have laughed at this and said that that’s ridiculous.
Unfortunately, Apple has started to do almost exactly the same thing. For example, in my iPhone settings, one of the first items at the moment is a promotion for an offer to get 1 year Apple TV+ for free. I can only dismiss it by tapping on it. It’s not the first such “offer” for an Apple service that I’ve had to dismiss, and there’s no way to say that I don’t want ads in my settings app. What does it have to do with settings anyway?
In the past I’ve gotten promotions for Apple services as notifications as well.
