This site isn't where I first saw this. This isn't the top hit for any search term I can come up with, but it is often on the first page of hits. So people do silly things without understanding what they're doing. (To give somewhat of a feeling for age here, the exact wording from that tutorial is at least 5 years out of date. Putty changed the UI a bit in 0.68)
