I'm currently learning R in a course I'm taking and I feel as if I'm moving at a snails pace when working on the programming assignments. It's demotivating since I feel like I should be moving faster and I end up feeling. The reality is that I have to accept that there aren't shortcuts and accept the grunt period before I become comfortable with the language. That's just part of life.
