Paywalled but I think I get the gist. The main problem with cases of (I'm presuming) civil forfeiture is that the assest is what's being accused of involvement in crime, not the person. As assets have no rights the police can essentially do as they please with it.
- kwhitefoot 5y agoHow can something that is not sentient be /accused/ of a involvement in anything.
