A family member (from the US) moved to Australia gradually - first on a tourist visa, which I believe he reset a couple of times by taking short trips to Thailand and Vietnam, then found a job that enabled him to get a temporary worker visa and I believe now a more permanent form of residency. It did seem like a stressful process though. And this was all pre-COVID, no idea if any of that is feasible at the moment.
