Sass didn't deprecate `/` for division for their own giggles - it's because `/` is increasingly being used in plain CSS values (most prominent example I can think of now is css grid[1]), so it became increasingly hard to distinguish raw values from Sass expressions

- otrahuevada 5y agoSuppose one of your favorite technical pen brands was suddenly only available in squishy ball form. Would you care about the very legitimate factory processes that made them do it? Or would you instead buy one that didn't? I'm an end user for SASS and what they are doing for their own reasons is making me want to walk away.
- claviska 5y agoAnother case is to delimit alpha in color functions: rgb(255 0 0 / 50%) is valid for full red at 50% opacity.
