There is a minimum amount of energy required to process a bit of information.
- Armisael16 5y agoThe Landauer limit is about 2.8 zJ at room temperature. Modern chips are ludicrously far away from that being relevant. A chip using 1W would need to do 10^20 operations per second to even get close; right now they do more like 10^9.
