I ditched Apple. After 20+ years. There is no way my computer not to be under my control. I compromise by using Windows for the design apps under VM. Pop!_OS is like a dream. Quick install. Update. Restart. Go. Manjaro and ARCH are perfect for development work. Last time I felt this satisfaction from using a desktop was long time ago with Snow Leopard. So in summary, use what you like but stop with this "Linux is hard and breaks". Control requires some effort and expertise.
