I especially like the steps taken to integrate mouse control into the design. A centered, integrated pointing device makes all computer interaction much easier. Without ranting too much, I have to say that for non-QWERTY layouts, this can be quite important. Suffice it to say, that's a wonderful feature of this Chordie design.
If I were to make one of these, one addition I would add is a board with ~1.5mm deep pockets in the shape of each piece so that everything could be held in place while used on a lap, or even over the existing keyboard of a laptop.
ASETNIOP[0] seems quite interesting, but I'm somewhat confused by how people are using it together with QMK[1]. I love that QMK is open source, but ASETNIOP doesn't appear to be. At least, there's not GitHub repo. On it's website, I only see apps for iOS and Android listed. So, how are people using it on computers? Does the commercial nature of the project mean I won't be able to use this on niche flavors of Unix?
I've been excited to try it out with a gHeavy board, but unfortunately, I've had a lot of bad luck with them. A $250 steel GergoPlex arrived bent and with a broken USB connector because the inadequate padded envelope it arrived in didn't protect it from some delivery person who dropped it. The Georgi I ordered just never arrived. Same story with the Ginny. No protection, no insurance, and no tracking. The gHeavy brand's innovation is much more thrilling than their logistics.
