- rogeraylesworth 5y agoThis is "cheap commodity hardware"? Does this guy know what that term means or is it just fashionable thanks to Google c. 1998? For the price of any single component in this "cheap commodity" build, one can rent on the order of 10 actually-cheap-commodity servers for a year, bandwidth and electricity included. Also - they're paying thousands of dollars per box and they're worried about 6 W power consumption? Something must be wrong with the economics at those DCs... or they're being ripped off for carbon-offset credits or something.
