Phone calls are super rude. You demand that somebody else drop whatever they are doing and answer you right now. On top of that, if the person you are calling is with somebody, not only do you interrupt the person you are calling, but you interrupt all the people that person is with. I mean I still use them because sometimes it is the easist way to accomplish something, but no wonder people are putting their phones on mute.
