Why are so many doctors burning out? Tons of real and electronic paperwork
- breckenedge 5y agoMy wife is a doc. Her former employer had an EMR that would occasionally freeze and crash, causing her to lose hours of work every day. Because she cares about people, this led to her repeating the work until late at night. It eventually led her to burnout and quit. Hospitals and insurance companies think they can get a good deal going with cheaper software, but it really does bite them in the end. Just hiring a new internist already costs well into the mid six-digits.
