The one about multi-cloud support is a valid point, I can remember quite a few times when companies I worked at chose products with multi-cloud support in order to avoid vendor lock-in.
Regarding being careful about open sourcing: it is truly unfortunate that that is the case, but I can see the point that the author is making.
