Why Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin Is So Reviled
- iab 5y agoSpace-themed law firm as I believe someone on r/space referred to it
- warning26 5y agoIt's really a shame that they've gone from pushing for innovation in the sector to become the very thing they (ostensibly) planned to disrupt. At least the established players have actually launched real products in the past.
- MattGaiser 5y agoAmazon just seems like it wants to win however it can. People in retail are just calcified slugs when it comes to innovation that it was the way to win.
- h2odragon 5y agoSometime in the last two years? maybe? it has become "Jeff Bezo's" instead of just "Blue Origin", in almost every headline. It's not an indefensible choice but that fact alone has an impact. Suing about starlink (and other shit), the joyride to space, the sudden emergence of "Kessler syndrome" as a press matter just when it's convenient to his purposes, a history of scummy behavior... all those kinda have an impact too.
- detaro 5y agoAlthough that's probably also because of the rise of "Elon Musk's SpaceX", which sets up the conflict with named people instead of companies. (And I guess maybe more mainstream headlines now, where Bezos name is the more well-known touch point?)
