MIT study: revenue from 100k digital nomads would equal that of 2.5M tourists
- Proven 5y agoAnother comical "policy" study. Have any of those PhDs asked why the concept exists in the first place? Because Digital Nomads avoid paying tax (which isn't something to be emphasized on HN, we're supposed to attack corporations who do that). But if the same group of PhDs got a grant to study international corporate taxation they'd all stand behind the recently adopted minimal corporate tax treaty. Oh, how I can't stand socialist "scientists." Has any of them proposed to make it possible to eliminate travel (save CO2) and simply allow people to switch to paying income tax in country of their choosing? We could prevent CO2 generated by 2.5 million tourists per each 100K of remote income tax optimizers!
