I'm not a fan of many of these new "features", but users aren't always able to formulate effective queries for their search goals. "You searched for x, but because we think we know what you really want based on your geolocation, we will show you y and z", is more troubling for me.

Users can't phrase their queries right, but it's all relative to the sophistication of the AI running the search. Google must work on improving it's ai instead of forcing users to enter phrases in an if-else "ai" algorithm.
