A few notes about Genshin Impact:
- Genesis Crystals are the base currency that RMT get you in Genshin Impact, not Primogems. You have to choose to convert them in order to do wishes (Gacha rolls)
- In 2.0, MiHoYo implemented cross-save functionality with PlayStation, PC and iOS. This allows PS players to now play on other devices, but importantly Genesis Crystals do not carry over between platforms
- The end result is that your RMT purchase is locked into the platform you use until you convert it into Primogems
- As a result, Genesis Crystal purchases have an additional hurdle that MiHoYo has to deal with to incentivize users (GC->Primogems conversion) but it is by no means insurmountable
- johnnyanmac 5y agoCorrect, this is often common practice with any cross platform app (usually IOS/Android). I imagine for platform policy reasons they can't just let you move over premium currency that was bought on one platform.
