There's nothing whatsoever we can do if China really wants to take Taiwan other than impose self-destructive and ineffective economic sanctions. We couldn't even do anything about the Taliban, let alone a nuclear armed country 4.5 times the size of the US, with a _million_ active service men and reasonably modern weaponry. At the moment Taiwan would be wise to wire their chip fabs to blow, like those Swiss mountain tunnels.
