I have personally witnessed data migration multiple times from the consulting side. There is a reason consulting companies charge what they charge. Migration is generally messy, require understanding your customer domain and generally goes hand in hand with other business transformation. In my experience, the pain points are rarely the technical part of the migration.
Reading your pitch you seem to think you will be able to be cheaper by building a set of tools around the technical part. Do you intend to also deliver the other services a consulting company offer or do you see yourself as a potential service provider for these consulting companies?
- memset 5y agoWe've spoken with consultants who are interested in our tools as a way to decrease the amount of effort required on their end to perform migrations (for example, so they can increase throughput and take on more customers.) Also, if a consultant is unfamiliar with the original platform, we help them get the data so they can apply their expertise to mapping it to the destination.
