Where did this interaction come from? – a brief history of interaction design
- asoneth 5y agoNote that this is written from the perspective of someone coming to interaction design by way of design and interactive art. Understanding cybernetics can provide some helpful concepts, but it seems odd to treat it as the foundational theory of interaction design. Most practicing interaction designers I know consider the field to have broader origins. For example, there is no mention of things like Alphonse Chapanis's work with pilots, Doug Englebart's demo, Card/Moran/Newell's model human processor, Moggridge's coining of the term "interaction design" etc.
