Software is becoming more complex and sticking around longer which increases our expectations for candidates. Meanwhile many organizations have near zero ability to train and onboard junior level candidates and those that do see them leave within 12-18 months.
- rafiki6 5y agoThere is a simple solution to this. Proactively offer them raises that will encourage them to stay instead of taking off for an immediate 20-40% pay bump.
- danjac 5y agoOr maybe take stock of the complexity of the software running your business and figure out how much is tech debt, how much is long-redundant features, and how much is resume-padding and chasing trends.
