Two possible issues the poster may be encountering: 1) Copy-paste shortcuts are different in terminals, on Linux, than they are everywhere else. They are the same, on macOS. 2) Much like drag-n-drop, reasonable support for copy-paste of things that aren't plain text is less common on Linux than on macOS, and attempting it is more likely to either not work or have unexpected effects.
