The Bizarre Refusal to Apply Cost-Benefit Analysis to Covid Debates
- londons_explore 5y agoI don't need to understand the very complex tradeoffs in setting COVID policies. But I pay and choose my politicians with the expectation that they will apply cost benefit analysis as the author suggests to COVID policies. I don't expect them to announce "we decided to sacrifice 50 teachers to reopen the schools and educate a million children". I expect them to come up with a more palletable explanation. But the underlying decision should still be based on a cost benefit analysis, however inhumane it may sound.
