I know a few people who are very financially conservative, and I am as well. None of them have responded to interest rates of 0% by consuming more. Everyone has shifted their accepted risk a little bit, but that's about it, they're still putting aside money. On the other hand, the people I know that are spending every available coin for vacation and consumption already did so 20 years ago.
